Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals registering for federal assistance, addressing their questions regarding prior registrations and guiding them toward appropriate relief program referrals.
- Conduct all customer interactions with patience, professionalism, and courtesy, accurately identifying customer needs and providing clear instructions or necessary referrals.
- Diligently input data into FEMA's Windows-based computer database as required, adhering to established guidelines while executing a scripted interview.
- Provide essential contact information and agency referrals for secondary support organizations as needed.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as assigned in response to FEMA's support for specific events.
- Actively participate in scheduled team meetings to receive critical event-specific updates prior to your shift.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and customer service aptitude, demonstrating a high level of professionalism across all communication channels, including reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Maintain technical competence in personal computer usage within a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Fulfill all call agent responsibilities, including data entry, while maintaining real-time assistance for disaster survivors on the line.
- Ensure all calls are conducted with confidentiality, avoiding distractions from cell phones or public spaces.
